Projection, Class Warfare, the Left and Governor Palin

A vile, depraved post on Leftist blog regarding Trig Palin's recent birthday was rightfully lambasted throughout the conservative blogosphere yesterday from Gateway Pundit to Big Journalism and beyond (even the liberal Mediaite). Blog postings, in addition to tweets, led to a massive new media effort, #trigscrew, to call advertisers at this Leftist blog to remove their ads. Due to a blast of tweets alerting them to their product being advertised on the Leftist blog, several companies have indeed lifted their advertising. It has revealed the Left for who they are, and it's all the more sweet that the fusion of the free market and social media has made such an impact on the Left's transparent agenda.

The Left claims to be for the proverbial little guy, butobviously not when it is this little guy. They are not only ideologically progressive, they are also projectionists-- attacking conservatives for what they themselves are exhibiting. Actions speak louder than words, so the saying goes, but for many of these projectionists, they only have words. Such is the case here. However, this misplaced projection and false accusations extend beyond the Left-to-Right blogosphere. Politicians on the Left and progressive pundits have accused Governor Palin of being a puppet for big corporation--and have played the class warfare card. Progressives should learn from history (even from across the Pond) about what happens when you play the class warfare card with a strong conservative woman:

In her Madison Tea Party rally speech on Saturday, Governor Palin called out the Left for engaging in "class warfare and fearmongering":
And when Wisconsin’s own Paul Ryan presented a plan for fiscal reform, what was Obama’s response? He demonized the voices of responsibility with class warfare and with fearmongering. And I say personally to our president: Hey, parent to parent, Barack Obama, for shame for you to suggest that the heart of the commonsense conservative movement would do anything to harm our esteemed elders, to harm our children with Down syndrome, to harm those most in need. No, see, in our book, you prioritize appropriately and those who need the help will get the help. The only way we do that is to be wise and prudent and to budget according to the right priorities.
These are the words of a woman whose actions have matched her words. As Governor, Palin budgeted wisely, prudently, and according to the right priorities. Her prudent budgeting has been well documented. She vetoed hundreds of millions of dollars in unneeded spending, rejected stimulus funding that would not be effective in Alaska's climate, and removed duplicated federal/state funding from her budgets. At the same time, Governor Palin's tenure included implementing a Senior Benefits program for low income elders. She also increased funding for students with disabilities in rural schools and increased funding for special needs education. Overall, she increased special needs funding by 175%. The very things that Governor Palin called for are the very things that she has done during her political career. She prioritized and budgeted accordingly.

Meanwhile, the Obama administration's health care "reform" legislation disallows families from using flexible spending accounts (which is the family's own money) for special needs education. He also employs a health care adviser who believes in that health care should be distributed by their "productivity in society" and their "potential to live a complete life". Additionally, President Obama and the liberals in Washington D.C. support spending money that we don't have to fund Planned Parenthood and the abortion industry, ignoring the fact Planned Parenthood turned a more than billion profit as a non-profit entity in 2008. Governor Palin, of course, is opposed to such funding stating in part:
We recognize that not only is our country buried under Mt. McKinley-sized debt, but that the truest measure of any society is how it treats those who are least able to defend and speak for themselves.
What does this say about our society? The Left uses Trig Palin as a prop for their hatred of Governor Palin, while wrongly accusing Governor Palin of using Trig as a political prop. They try to fear monger and accuse conservatives of destroying entitlement programs, when it is their mindsets that contribute to policies supportive of rationing of care by panels like Independent Payment Advisory Board that affects Medicare reimbursement and treatment. They accuse conservatives of not caring for the elderly and those with special needs, when it's their rhetoric and policies that are uncaring. They are progressive projectionists. I think I'll stick with the ideas and character of the woman not only has her political rhetoric match her policies, but who also had the courage and compassion to do something 90% of mothers in her situation don't do.

Thoughts from Madison: Game On!

Governor Palin gave a simply incredible speech today in Madison, Wisconsin speaking on a range of issues including the recent budget and collective bargaining battle in Wisconsin, the capitulation of the GOP Establishment, the recent budget to the empty promises of President Obama, and a declarative on the 2012 election. Governor Palin began her speech discussing Wisconsin as the "frontlines in the battle for our country", which indeed is true from the roles that Governor Walker, Judge Prosser, and Congressman Ryan have played in the recent political discussion.

Wisconsin is also the birthplace of the Republican party and in many ways, the progressive movement as well, particularly in Madison. This made it all the more fitting that Governor Palin came to speak in Wisconsin. In her speech, she called the Republican party to stand on the planks of the party, and she called out the tactics and the policies of the Progressive movement in both Madison and Washington D.C.. The Tea Party movement is on two fronts--against the Left and against the Establishment. As Karen rightly said last night, we are Wisconsin.

I was blessed with the opportunity to make the trip up to Madison this morning to attend the rally. There were, of course, no Koch brother marionettes standing behind Governor Palin choreographing her every move as she spoke, as the Left claims. She is no corporate puppet, just ask the oil companies in Alaska. Of course, the Left's assertions regarding the Governor are more often than not projections, ad hominem attacks, and falsehoods. This rally was no different. Laughably, one protest sign simply said, "Sarah Who?". The illogic of the Left--claim someone is irrelevant, then show up at a venue where they are speaking in the wind and snow to protest their appearance. Their method of "reason"--noise--the audible equivalent of the legitimacy of their arguments.

Prior to the speeches, several Wisconsin and Illinois volunteers from Organize4Palin handed out hundreds of palm cards to rally attendees and got pages and pages of individuals signed up for more information about this grassroots effort. From my personal experience with this, it was very exciting to see the receptiveness and excitement that people had in response to Governor Palin. Some individuals who signed up brought Governor Palin's books to hold up in lieu of signs. Some were military veterans. All appreciated the courageous conservatism that Governor Palin espouses.

If you haven't already, please sign up to be involved in Organize4Palin. Supporting Governor Palin is especially effective when we are boots on the ground in addition to being fingers on a keyboard. She has had our back, and we have the opportunity to have her back as she continues to speak out as 2012 approaches.

Game on.

Kelsey also attended the rally. She has some absolutely amazing pictures. Please see here and here.

The Left's Hypocrisy on Campaign Funding

Despite President Obama's call for "special interest" groups to remain uninvolved in upcoming midterm elections and the disparagement of the Tea Party movement and its campaign actions by the Democrats, it seems that double standards to occur. Then again as often is the case, if it wasn't for double standards, most of the Left wouldn't have standards.

Under the seemingly benign name of the America's Families First Action Fund, this special interest group has spent nearly $1.5 million for advertising against Palin endorsed Congressional candidates in the last two weeks alone. This includes more than $375K against Wisconsin Congressional candidate, Sean Duffy, more than $400K against Florida Congressional candidate, Steve Southerland, nearly half a million dollars against Arizona candidates, Ruth McClung and David Schweikert, and nearly $200K total against Colorado candidate, Scott Tipton, and New Mexico candidate, Steve Pearce.

The bigger story, however, is not the amount of cash invested in bringing down conservative candidates, but the method behind the madness. The America's Families First Fund is aimed a promoting "progressive issues". This organization did not file "statement of organization" papers with the Federal Election Committee until August, and their skeleton of a website shows no information regarding its supposed focal points and acts primarily as a simply an additional temporary funnel for liberal dollars to flow through. Its contributions come only from a small cadre of big dollar donors and the International Association of Fire Fighters.

Politico describes this PAC as (emphasis mine), "one of three newly formed Democratic committees not aligned with a union that are swooping in during the final weeks, hoping to stall the Republicans’ momentum". However, half a million dollars of their donations came from the International Association of Firefighters, which is affiliated with the AFL-CIO. The AFL-CIO is a coalition of labor unions headed by known union "thug", Richard Trumka. You can put lipstick on union funding, but it's still thug backed campaign funding.

An interesting cast of characters have given six figures to this PAC themselves. These donors include Agnus Gund who fought for " fair elections" by removing "special interest"funding. Ironically, this very issue that Gund fought against is the very issue upheld by the Supreme Court in the Citizens United vs. FEC case allowing organizations like the America's Family First Fund to operate to oppose candidates. George Marcus and Stephen Silberstein, both big time Democratic donors, gave a combined $350,000 to America's Families First. Rob McKay, HuffPo blogger and chairman of the Democratic Alliance, contributed $100,000 to this PAC. McKay's Democratic Alliance is supported by George Soros, supported ACORN, and had a role in the Norm Coleman-Al Franken recount in Minnesota's 2008 Senate race.

PAC expenditures went toward political consulting groups such as Project New West, whose President has worked for the DNC and NARAL pro-choice America among other Left leaning organizations. They also employed the communication consulting of Winning over Washington led by Ramona Oliver who has prior experience with SEIU and EMILY's List. Nothing says "America's Family First" like strategies provided by groups lead by individuals proudly supportive of pro-"choice", pro-thug union groups, right?

The Democrats as a party and the Left as an ideology try to claim to support the "little guy". However, when their causes are supported in large part by Union backed PACs and wealthy donors some with nefarious ties, this hardly seems to be the case. The "little guy" that Governor Palin has been referencing in her recent speeches are the same people who are expressing support for the the Tea Party movement and Governor Palin's PAC itself. Although the FEC rules for a 401 (c)4 organization like America's Families First and a national leadership PAC like SarahPAC differ, recent quarterly reports show a great grassroots support from small donors, even more so than President Obama's leadership PAC prior to his run for the Presidency. In spite of negative campaigning by corporatistic PACs, the election is ultimately decided by the "little guy" at the ballot box.

1773 and a History Lesson for the Left

The Left again proves itself to be devoid of a basic knowledge of American history. Yesterday at the Tea Party Express rally in Reno, Nevada, Governor Palin spoke with appropriate cautiousness about celebrating electoral victories prematurely by telling rally attendees to not "party like it's 1773 just yet". As conservatives know, 1773 was the year of the Boston Tea Party. Michelle Malkin shares this link for those who may need a refresher. Malkin also reports:

Sarah Palin wisely warned Tea Party activists to keep working hard right up until Election Day — and not to “party like it’s 1773″ yet.

Intellectually superior leftists from Daily Kos founder Markos Moulitsas to PBS “moderator”/Obama cheerleader Gwen Ifill took to Twitter to snicker about Palin’s historical illiteracy.

But it’s the Palin-bashers who humiliated themselves, via Cuffy Meigs.

“Ummm” yourself, nitwit.

Of course they wouldn’t know when the Tea Party occurred.

They’re too busy wallowing in teabagging jokes and hate smears.

Of course Moulitsas has been too busy trying to astroturf internet search engines to smear conservatives running up to the midterm elections to study up on American history. Gwen Ifill perhaps took a history lesson from Joe Biden who confused the First and Second Articles of the Constitution during the 2008 Vice Presidential debate that she moderated between Biden and Palin.

It's always humorous to see the pseudointellectual Left get knocked down from their high horse. Perhaps this chronologically wrong version of history is taught on that "unicorn ranch in fantasyland" that Governor Palin spoke of last week.

Palin Endorsed Candidate Gets "Palinized"-Depicted as Hitler

In late March, Governor Palin endorsed a trio of veterans running for Congress. Among these was Adam Kinzinger, who is running for the 11th District seat in Illinois:
The second veteran is Captain Adam Kinzinger, a decorated special-operations pilot who flew combat missions in Iraq and Afghanistan. Adam is running for Illinois’ 11th Congressional District against a freshman incumbent congresswoman who seemed to pull a bait and switch on voters to get elected. She sounded like a blue dog on the campaign trail, but didn’t vote like one in Washington. Instead, she voted in lockstep with the Pelosi agenda – on Obamacare, the stimulus, cap-and-tax – and the list goes on. She’s part of the reason for Congress’ 11% approval rating. Adam is a strong fiscal conservative with a proven track record as a reformer from his years serving on his local county board. Adam started out in local office, and, like many of us, believes in making government more accountable to the people. When you serve in local office, your constituents truly are your neighbors. Adam understands this, and I know that he will listen to his constituents and work for us, not against us, in Washington. Please visit Adam’s website here to make a donation to his campaign, and follow him on Facebook and Twitter.

It isn't too hard to see why Governor Palin endorsed Kinzinger:

Kinzinger is running against Democratic incumbent Congresswoman, Debbie Halvorson. Halvorson has voted lock-step with Speaker Pelosi despite the fact that she ran as an "independent" thinker when elected in 2008. Although more than a month old, the most recent polling data show that Kinzinger has an eleven point lead over Halvorson. Just over a month ago, though claiming no ill will, Halvorson fired her campaign manager, former Clinton campaign worker, Travis Worl. As a side note, Worl had falsely accused Kinzinger of lying about his military record. Halvorson then hired Julie Merz, a member of Halvorson's campaign team since March, as her campaign manager.

Apparently, when some are trailing in a tough campaign, they feel the need to resort to extreme, horrific, and completely uncalled for measures, such as depicting your opponent and other conservatives such as Governor Palin and Glenn Beck as Nazis and chanting out, "outsource Adam, not our jobs". The Left proves its again as possessing no scruples. From Big Government:

Gateway Pundit has identified
one of the protesters as none other than Halvorson's newest campaign manager, Julie Merz, who, by the way, also once worked for Speaker Pelosi. Other protesters include Missouri Deputy Field Director for Obama's presidential campaign, Anna Markowski. The protesters, who were picketing against the Americans for Prosperity group in Joliet, ended their night by walking across the street to one of Halvorson's campaign offices.

Pamela Gellar at Atlas Shrugs has a good refudiation
of this campaign "tactic" and the complicit media (which Newsbusters also takes on). After all, if it wasn't for double standards, some liberals wouldn't have standards:
The Nazis are coming! That's what the national socialist party is howling. And that which they falsely accuse us of, they do with reckless abandon, painting leaders of the rational as Hitler. They painted Bush with the Hitler brush, and the shill media said nothing, did nothing, saw nothing. But they were only too happy to lie, manipulate images and photoshop pictures to smear and slander good people, accusing us of doing it to the sainted failure in the White House (go here and here). I vlogged their slander (go here to watch video with fauxtography and screenshots back in August 2009).

But now they are actually doing it, gleefully rubbing their hooves, and the silence of the media is deafening. They have no shame. When they deliberately won't report the news because it refudiates their narrative, they lie about it. Take a good hard look around, people: the enemy within, the fifth estate are destroying this country brick by brick, line by line, freedom by freedom.

This is Goebbels-style propaganda. Big Media is going down in flames.
The Kinzinger campaign has also responded to this horrible display:
“It was shocking to see the images displayed by protesters in Joliet this week. When I decided to run for office, I understood the nastiness of politics but never envisioned this kind of attack. Congresswoman Halvorson’s campaign has denied involvement, but video of protesters retiring to her office following the demonstration indicates otherwise. The campaign’s spokesman stated that Halvorson shares my concerns about the public display. If that is indeed the case, I respectfully ask that she use the evidence at hand to launch an investigation into the activities of her campaign and its participation in the Joliet protest, and take appropriate action. The following are questions that Congresswoman Halvorson and her campaign need to answer truthfully:

*Was the protest organized or sanctioned by Halvorson, the Illinois Democratic Party or the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee?

*Who are the individuals leading the protest and later seen with Team Halvorson?

*Are the individuals leading the protest staffers or volunteers for Debbie Halvorson? If not, why are they seen entering the Halvorson office after their protest and laughing with Campaign Manager Julie Merz?

It seems that more and more often Palin endorsed candidates have been"palinized"--maliciously treated, maligned, and misrepresented. We have said there are no more free shots allowed at Governor Palin. Shouldn't the same be said regarding those commonsense conservatives whom she supports? If you are able, please take the opportunity to support Kinzinger's campaign and signup at Organize4Palin to assist with Adam Kinzinger's and other Palin-endorsed campaigns.

Ignorance of the Left on Full Display

If you listened to the media, you would think that those of us who support Governor Palin were ignorant and uninformed. However, often the converse is true. There's a disconnect between reality and misconception. The misconception is that conservatives, especially those of the Palin variety, are stupid, uneducated blind followers. The misconception is that the anti-Palin crowd are sophisticated, intelligent, and open minded. What does reality show us though? Take a look at this video of anti-Palin protesters:

Fabulous, huh? Let's take a look point-by-point. The Left prides itself on its intellectualism, yet it seems in spite of such superior intellect, their vocabulary, on display in this clip, is rather small and largely consisting of four letter words. Second, the chant of these buffoons is quite enlightening, "eat the rich!". Yes, that will solve poverty in America and cure all societal ills! Why didn't we think of that before?! The Left tries to turn everything into class warfare. However, as we've seen with the bloated budgets circulating throughout Washington and state houses, the true "rich" are not wealthy Americans, but a government who has become intent on gorging itself on other people's money, rich or not. We have a progressive income tax system that falls on the back of the rich. The effects of capital gains and business taxes fall largely on the rich. However, taxes don't just fall on the rich. With the talk of value added taxes and cap and tax legislation, taxes will fall on all consumers. Regardless of what your view is on smoking, the Left, the supposed champion of the little guy, is a big proponent of a regressive (falling largely on the poor) tax on cigarettes. What do these taxes go to? Massive entitlement programs, supposed government "stimulus" programs, bailouts, and earmarks. The true culpable "rich" are those in Washington who have feasted upon the American taxpayer to feed their insatiable appetite.

Lastly, what does this video show? The Left's misunderstanding of what makes America exception. One man in the video states that he "hates the Constitution", and he's a Communist. For someone who hates the Constitution, he certainly did his fair share of exercising his first amendment rights. As we've seen with the SCOTUS confirmation hearings this week, the US Senate is poised to confirm a justice who sees the Constitution as a living document, yet does not see an unborn child as living, even to the point to altering medical information in order to support partial birth abortion. We have a president in office who sees the Constitution as a "charter of negative liberties"--one that tells the government what it can't do. Do we see a pattern here? Disdain for our Constitution, while freely exercising one of the rights vested in that document, is truly a double standard, but hey, if it wasn't for double standards, some on the Left wouldn't have standards.
